You Want Costume Pictures?!

Ok a sneak peek for what is to come on Halloween.  Please join with us in crossing our fingers that Elijah doesn't grow AT ALL in the next two weeks, otherwise that costume will NOT fit him!

Pumpkin Patch!

Erickson Ranch- Pumpkin Patch and Produce- Fairfield, CA
Today we took the boys to the pumpkin patch!  This was Elijah's first pumpkin patch trip where he understood what was going on.  When I got him up this morning I said "We are going to go to the pumpkin patch today!" to which he replied "I go punkin patch?! I get punkin?! I put on my costume?! I need candies?!" HAHAHAHAH! In about two weeks he learned everything there is to learn about Halloween, it may be cute, but dang- really?! CANDIES?! He says he needs his pumpkin basket to get his candies...oy. (p.s he loves skittles, not sure who put those in front of him...ahem...*cough cough*)
What day at the pumpkin patch would not be complete without Carving a pumpkin? So that is what we did after Elijah's nap- we carved his little pumpkin. He was really interested in the face and no-so-interested in the pulling out of the innards! hahah! I asked him a couple times "Do you want to pull this out?" to which he quickly replied "NO! it's yucky". HAHA. Oh well.
He is now fully attached to his pumpkin as you can see in the pictures below. And just for your peace of mind, that is a battery operated candle inside- no open flames here!
Happy two weeks from Halloween!

Let's Go Oakland!

Although this post comes after the loss of the ALWest game to the Tigers (sad, sad day in the De Mers household), we thought we could uplift some of our fellow Athletic's fans spirits with a rally of "Let's Go Oakland" by one new fan- Elijah!

Roar!

Happy Saturday morning! Our little Elijah is starting to like some main stream songs. There is one in particular by Katy Perry that he really likes, it's called Roar! But Elijah calls it O-o-oh-ut-0!  Hmmm let me see, this will describe it better....

7 month check in

By popular demand, and I mean DEMAND, here is Lucas' 7 month check-IN (because he doesn't have a check UP until 9 months).
Well this boy has made some major accomplishments this month! He is sitting up, rolling over (ALL over) and just today starting to get up on to his knees and rock. I just barely saw him do it once on the couch with me. As soon as he does it again I will try to capture it.
He is weighing in at 20.2 lbs and I don't have any other statistic other than that.
He of course is just a happy , happy boy. He is talking more and more...you know the "hey mom, how was your day" kind of chit chat...haha of course I am kidding. It's all jibber jabber, but we love it.
Still no teeth for this guy, and I am NOT complaining about that, not one bit.
I think that covers it for month 7. It's hard to believe (and I know I keep saying that) that in five short months we will be celebrating his one year birthday. I don't even want to think about it. I love this "baby" stage.

Time lapse on the swing

I was just going through my phone on the train home last week and I came across these pictures of Elijah in the same swing at the city park. One was from around 1 year old all the way up until now. I thought it would be neat to put them chronologically in a blog post so you (and mostly I) can see how much this darling boy has grown. Enjoy!

I wear my headphones at night

Check out Elijah and his new, orange (or as he says "orangiz") headphones! We wouldn't normally have bought these for him, but at his last hearing test he wouldn't wear the headphones they needed him to wear to test his hearing levels. So they suggested we buy him some and let him get used to using them, so he wouldn't be scared of them. This is day one, hour one and he is doing great. The silver lining? We don't have to listen to his shows! Hahah.
