Father's Day with G.P. Mike!

First off, let me clarify about "G.P. Mike"  This is my dad, who doesn't want to be called "grandpa" because it makes him feel old.  I can respect that.  I had a grandmother who didn't want to be called "grandma" for the same reason, so we called her "Jane".  However, for some reason I just can't accept the fact that my dad wants to be called "Mike".  So he has started signing off on things as "G.P. Mike" i.e. "Grand Parent Mike". As lame as that sounds (sorry dad!) I think it might be what Elijah calls him...more likely it will be shortened to G.P. which sounds like Jeepy which is fitting because he is a HUGE car buff- Namely Mopars.

Ok now that that has been prefaced, here is a picture of "G.P.Mike" and Elijah as Father's day brunch....somehow I missed getting a picture of Aaron with Elijah, but that's ok because I don't have a picture with Elijah on Mother's Day- We are terrible First-Time Parents!
A Progression shot of G.P. Mike Calming the baby!  How fat does Elijah look in these shots! hahah!

AND Here are a couple more recent shots just for you!
Shauna brought this back from Belize for E!
Just a cute shot of our little linebacker- Go Red Skins!!!

Interacting more at 2 months!

It is amazing how much Elijah has not only grown in 2 months, but also how he has become more alert and aware of his surroundings!  Just in the past week or so, we have noticed how he is starting to respond to his (what I call) friends in the swing and on the play gym.  Here is a short video of E cooing to his "friends".  Of course he was making more noise before I started shooting the video.  One day I will be super speedy and pick up on these things we he starts to do something remarkable and not when he finishes doing something remarkable!
DISCLAIMER: THIS VIDEO MIGHT MAKE YOU DIZZY. :)

Loving his Wubbanub and puppy

This was just too cute not to share...although, he was NOT happy, Elijah is holding on to his Wubbanub (i.e. pacifier holder) like it's his best friend.  awwwee :)

And here he is yesterday, sweetly content in his swing- asleep with his new friend from Karen and  Tina at Tiny Toes in Bel Air, MD- Thank you ladies!!!
I just have to add this:  Elijah is in rabbit moon's spring 2011 Splash Bodysuit! too cute!

Halloween...WHAT?!!

This costume was worn by Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rosdale's son, Kingston a couple of years ago!
Alright- It is a little early to be thinking about Halloween, but when you are in the children's clothing business, it's never too early!
Today at work I happened across an old box of "costumes" I rummaged through them and came up with two tigers...the ONLY costumes that I could find in 3 or 6 months. So that was that.  Elijah is destined to be a tiger for Halloween!  Now we just have to see which one he will fit in.  At 2 months (9 weeks as of last Friday) he is growing faster than the "average" baby.  Here are his new stats per the Doc.:

  •  Height: 23.5 inches - 79%
  •  Weight: 12lbs 13oz- 77%
  •  Head Circumference: 37.5 cm- 39%
...needless to say, it looks like he will be tall like his dad and my granddad!

p.s. check back for the next four days, I have posts scheduled to go up at noon each day through the 23rd!

The Play-Gym!

Elijah is really starting to enjoy his play gym.  It has taken a little while though.  I bought this around 2-3 weeks of age and he hated it.  Now that he is two months he is responding a lot better to it.  Every time I put him on the mat he is able to entertain himself longer! HOORAY!  Here is a picture and two videos that I took of him this week "entertaining himself"!   (feel free to not watch the whole thing they are about one-two minutes long which can get boring:)

Elijah on his play-gym mat in his Tie-Dye Onesie- Can you believe it is 3/6 months  (they are running small for sure)

This was taken earlier last week.

This one was taken Friday- already a slightly more interested baby!

P.S.- Tomorrow is my first day back to work.  Wish me luck!  ...This also means that these posts may not be as frequent- sorry :(

Multi-Tasking!

While the girls from college were here this past week, I found myself in need of some multi-tasking.  We were playing a very intense game of Phase 10 and the little guy needed to be fed...so I jury-rigged a contraption!  Once completed I looked at the girls and said "This is more like something Aaron would do, not me!" hahah!

Elijah + Boppy Pillow + X-Box Controller + Bottle = Success!

Oh yeah!  He was watching TV too!  I am a terrible mother hahah!

Fun With Megan!

Shauna and Heather (friends from college) came up this week to meet Elijah for the first time!  We had such a blast together, and even more fun when we went to see our other friend from college, Megan and her little girl Brooklyn!   Brooklyn will be 1 on Aaron's birthday, July 13th (thank you Brooklyn for making it VERY easy for me to remember your birthday;), and just LOVED Elijah- which is good because that is her pre-arranged marriage partner! haha!

Oops Brooklyn pressed a little too hard on Eli's tummy- he was alright though, they had smiles together shortly after!

Megan had some fun with Elijah too!  Here she is cooing back and forth with him :)

Almost Laughing

Aaron was sitting on the couch on Wednesday and Elijah was soooo close to laughing!  I shot some video of their interaction- Darling!
We have actually heard him laugh in his sleep, which is quite hilarious. It's pretty rare and quick though, so I haven't been able to record it yet.

More Shots to Enjoy!

Well we are in week 6 and fast approaching week 7 of Elijah's life.  Currently it is 5:45 on Wednesday evening and Elijah is crying his little head off- It's  "Cry Time"  Aaron and I have both read books on child rearing and each of them says that babies have a "cry time"of the day.  Elijah's is the 5-8 pm hours.  He eats at 5 cries for the good part of the 6 and 7 hours until he falls asleep, amidst our trying to calm him here and there, and then eats again at 8 and crashes- most likely because he has tuckered himself out from crying.  I must say though, it IS getting better. His cry time is slowly deminishing each day from that three hour timespan to about a 15 minute span...for the most part.  I say this as he has quited down...but has just blurted out again.  He's in his swing and will hopefully fall fast asleep...SOON!!!!
Here are some of our captured moments from this week!  Enjoy.

More Smiles

Judy from Baby Bug in Lemoyne, PA sent Elijah some fabulous gifts!  We are in love with the Wubbanub (the pacifier monkey) and the Aiden & Anais swaddler... and those sunglasses are too cute!!

Elijah hugging his Wubbanub monkey!

Elijah and Daddy
Elijah Talking...ok Cooing, but it's still pretty cute.  P.S. In the past two weeks he has been plagued with Baby Acne- poor guy!  You can see it in this video :(
