I was doing some things around the house the other day and came in to see Elijah quietly playing....lining up his cars all in a row. Do you see his mad face and the green car in his hand? Well to quote him "its too big!" He didn't like that it was bigger than the other cars. Oh boy. That's my son for sure!

Playtime

I'm home sick today with a cold. Ugh! I thought colds were winter events not mid June bummers!
Anyway, it does offer me some extra time with Lucas which is the highlight of my day so far.
Here is our little Lucas playing on his playmat. I remember when I would watch Elijah play just like this. Man they grow up fast!

Gurgles and laughs

  I had some alone time with Lucas yesterday afternoon as Elijah slept. We had a grand ol time and I even got some really cute gurgles and laughs out of him and managed to capture it on video for you all. It's so sweet, I just love this stage!!!!

P-O-T-T-Y

We have been talking about the potty a lot around here. I guess you could say we have "potty mouths".  I realize that Elijah is not quite ready for actual potty training yet, but because we talk about it, I thought I would buy him a potty so that he could start getting used to.  I showed it to him the other day and we went through the steps of:
1. Let mommy take off your diaper
2. Sit on the Potty
3. Read a book- ok an iPad, but hey it's the modern day book ;)

The kid sat there for 30 minutes, I kid you not. And when he got up (sans any "real" results) he had a big fat red ring on his bottom.  Though I didn't capture a shot of it, I did get a good laugh. I hope you enjoy these "indisposed" pictures. Hey! We've all got have an "on the potty" picture, right?!

We're Back!

After a long hiatus due to a month living at my dad's house, we are finally home and I am finally able to A. Take more pictures. and B. actually post them on the blog.
Here are a couple pictures from this afternoon.  Lucas will be 17 weeks on Monday, and Tuesday will be his official 4 month birthday.  It's amazing how fast time is flying...

Back to Work

I went back to work yesterday, and though there is not more than that to share I did get a few pictures via text message from Aaron, who is home with Lucas for at least another couple of weeks. Keep your fingers crossed for him, there is talk of the refinery in Benicia starting up a new construction project in the next couple of weeks. The job would be welcomed (of course) and is rumored to be long, which would hopefully keep him employed for the rest of this year if not longer.

Hanging Out on a Hot June Evening
