Almost sitting up at Six months

Lucas is getting so close to sitting up by himself. We've seen a big strength growth jut in the last week. He can balance his head (hahah) pretty well and pull himself back up from a leaning forward position. I am pretty sure in a week or two I will be writing to tell you he's doing it all by himself!

More Stories from Oma's

Concentration is the name of the game
Well it's Monday. We have been having so much fun, there hasn't been a minute to update you, until now.  Elijah is swimming in the pool with Aaron and mom, Emery is reading on the couch and Lucas is sleeping. Whew.
Here's what we have done so far
1. Swim
2. Watch Tennis at NMSU
3. Swim
4. Farm & Ranch Museum where they have live animals (cows, goats, sheep, horses, ponies, bunnies, and the occasional lizard!)
5. Swim
6. Play & Relax

We also went out to a great breakfast yesterday morning at Josefina's Old Gate in Mesilla, walked around Mesilla and even got a babysitter so that mom, Emery, Aaron and I could go out to a nice dinner at St. Clair's Winery! WHAT A TREAT!!!!! The boys did great for the sitter and everyone was sleeping (sans the sitter) when we got home at the late hour of...9:00. haha.
Here are some pictures of the things we have been enjoying.  I will try to post at least one or two more time before we depart back to reality.

The mad dash to moms

We made it. By the seat of our pants, we made it to moms. Our trip couldn't have been complete without a very long (2 concorse 50gate) run, yes run through the Las Vegas airport to catch a flight with a ten minute connection. My legs are sore from running in high heels with a 35 lb child in my arms a bag and a backpack. But we made it.
We may have all been exhausted today, but we made it.

So far great times have already been had. Swimming, a tennis racket and play for Elijah. Good naps and great down time just catching up. We hope you enjoy the pictures from the first day of our trip,

Back Pack! Back Pack!

It's 10:32 pm and I'm not that tired. I will hate myself in the morning but I JUST HAD TO SHARE these cute pictures of Elijah with you!
I told him that I was going to order him a backpack for our big trip to Oma and Opas in a couple of weeks. He loved that idea, as a couple of cartoons he watches have backpacks in them. S I let him pick out which one he wanted, and he did and let me just tell you- every time I got on amazon or any site looking for anything remotely close to backpacks he would say to me "my hippo pack pack?" (Yes pack pack, close enough right?). This went on for two weeks, I kid you not. How on earth does he remember this stuff? Anyway the back pack came today and he was thrilled. I didn't think to get a video, but I did snap a couple of cute pictures. The craziest thing is that he knows what to do with it, and then he started asking where his lunch box was?!!! What!! One thing at a time kid. Money doesn't grow on trees, sheesh! Hahah. Hope you enjoy these pictures! More of Lucas to come too, I promise!

Rolling Over

Even though you won't see it here (at least tonight), our little Lucas has learned to roll over today!! It was so cute and I am sorry we didn't catch it on film, but he got tired and cranky and just didn't want to perform any more. However, we had to document it on this day!

Talk Talk Talk!

Well it looks like Lucas is talking...ok not "Talking", but he's "gabbing".  I came home tonight to a baby who decided to hold a conversation with me.  He was chatty chatty chatty and when I couldn't capture it the first time, I knew I had to be sure to get it on film when he did it again.  Sure enough at bed time, I put him on the changing table and he started talking to me.  It was so darling.  I forgot about this stage.  I guess that is why we have more than one, to relive the first all over again.  I hope you enjoy hearing this little guy "gab" as much as I did.
*Disclaimer: I sound like an annoying mom, but he would only talk to me if I talked back.
 Enjoy!
